Smith Township is organized in accordance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Second Class Township Code. The governing body is composed of three supervisors who are elected for six-year terms. Board of Supervisors - Re-Organization - Meetings are held monthly on the second Monday of the month at 7 PM in the Slovan Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall. If that day is a holiday, the meeting will be held at 7 PM on the second Tuesday of the month.
